Herritage

The Langguth’s started out as wine merchants, offering a selection of wines produced in family-owned cellars. At the turn of the 19th Century, to top estate owners typically cultivated multiple individual slopes in the best sites along the Moselle, Saar and Ruwer rivers, regardless of the distance between them. This was done to broaden the portfolio of wines they could offer. Our slopes are still spread across several communities of the Moselle valley and were first recognized as what are known today as GROSSE LAGE® and ERSTE LAGE® on the historical wine map issued by the Prussian government in 1868.
